How Did You Score?
Your results indicate an average score on emotional intelligence.

What Does Your Score Mean
People with an average score on emotional intelligence are generally good at interpreting, understanding, and acting upon emotions. They are are fairly comfortable with dealing with social or emotional conflicts, expressing their feelings, and dealing with emotional situations.

It's important to remember that no matter what your score is, there is always room to improve your emotional intelligence. Consider areas where you are not as strong and think of ways that you can learn and grow. Take stock of your strong points and find ways to continue to develop and apply these skills.

Many have very, very high EQ in fact (I have seen it in action, unfortunetly). The key is EQ measures your emotional understanding, but doesn't necessarily mean you are empathic towards individuals. If you couple a lack of sympathy with a keen understanding of other people's emotions, you can become very formidable. Power relies on knowledge of fear, motivation, and mass psychology, all emotional things. Hitler knew how to get a rise out of people, for example.

BTW, my score was above average. I really believed mine would be extremely low....

I don't really think I need a test, since I'm an "INFP".

I am "average"...typical.

But I have worked with folks who have zero emotional intelligence...they are tough to work with.

Above average. I developed my skills living with narcissistic dysfunctional family members.
