No funeral for me. I want to be cremated. I think to would be a huge inconvenience and financial burden to make my family and friends come to TN for a memorial. That would be very selfish of me to do that to them.

Let them have their own gathering...at their own homes and celebrate life. Cheers to the living

Interesting how many people want cremation. In my area, a funeral is a must. I have told my son that I want to be cremated for the least amount of money possible. He knows that he is to keep any money for himself. I don't really care how he uses it. Flowers? I don't really care to get flowers from people who never thought about giving me flowers while I can enjoy them, so they can keep their money.

I live a simple life, so I want a very simple celebration with with only close family present. No one will get the chance to say how I looked.

Yeah...we have a lot of funerals in my area also. Big business here:roll eyes: and most of the locals can't afford them.

What a stupid question, why would you care since you are dead?

I'm not having one. As a child, I attended several funerals since we accompanied my grandparents to the "passings" of people they knew. When my Grandfather died and then my Grandmother, I watched all of these strangers show up to check them out. Grandpa and Grandma would have loved to have them stop by while they were alive yet none of them did. Visit people when it counts, while they can enjoy it. I'm going out the most frugal way possible just as I have lived my life.

I hate funerals. I already told my family and friends that I don't want one. I told them to have a party/celebration instead.
