I HATE Facebook!

And you can't cancel your account. I've tried several times to cancel, it still keeps right on running, but I just don't get notified. Facebook is a bunch of characters on a screen, NOT a friend. Friends don't go away in a power failure!

I don't understand the stupid thing---everytime I look at something, it comes on my Facebook---she likes Snicker Bars, or she likes Playtex Tampons, whatever! Geez, what if I just stumbled on some off-color website, then I'm branded in front of the whole world as some sort of weirdo?

Also, I've found Facebook to bring out the weird in weirdos! Recently a friend wrote her son was in a horrible accident, about to die, in ICU, prayers, please. She didn't ask for money, and I didn't think she was asking for money, just attention. Then, all of a sudden, nothing about the dying son---just some crap about some games, she got some score, or reached some level, whatever. Now WTH do I do? write and ask if her son is dead? Try to one up her on her games? Leave the nutball alone?

Also, what really gripes me is, try to reach out to someone as a friend, someone you know or have known, and they put you on their Facebook list. How flattering! Now I'm part of their fan club. I'd rather have 4-6 flesh-and-blood real friends than 5000 bits and bytes on a computer screen. Actually, a dog is better company, think I'm going to get me a dog

Really? have standards in modern society become so low?. FB is as shallow as it can get. My neighbor used it to brag about her unemployed 35 year old son, who still lives at home

The format of FB is such that it invites narcissism. pictures of everyones kids, vacations etc. To me it is shallow, and boring.

It really shows how shallow our society is becoming, as a former Ops manager for a bank, the CSR reps (usually kids aged 18-25 )would come in and talk about their "drama" this was, until it was pointed out to them that the VP of the bank hardly gave a flying ** and would actually want them fired after seeing their focus on this.

I guess some will learn the hard way. Real life isnt FB. Unless you are retired and live for "tagging" photos everyday. jmo
Or........ 80 pictures of themselves, self-portraits taken with their cell phones...in their car, their bathroom, their living room, of their new hairstyle, the new makeup they just HAD to have, etc. OMG get a LIFE! LOL Actually, FB can be quite a nice "screening" tool. It's actually revealed a few folks whom will not hear from me....ever! But hey, thanks for touching bases! LOL

It's Facebook, a social networking site ... If you want a shoulder, or an ear, dial 7-digits, and step out, meet friends. Real friends, not cyber ones.

I have a lot of people on my FB, and sometimes I shake my head and think, "never every thought needs to be tweeted, or facebooked".

I have a person on page from HS who posted she is getting urinary track infections every other week now. Little does she know, one too many could be any medically serious condition, including an STD. Not smart
.

People take FB so seriously .... it's a social networking site.

Facebook should make you realize that some people just want some attention. I like the site if its use for networking, fun types activites but not for telling the world your life story. The same goes for twitter. Hey get off that site while your at work.

I use FB to stay in touch with people from all around the world, it's free and easy to say hello now and then, no more...it's entertainment at best and you really shoudn't expect much from the site and everyone on it.
