The whole 'myspace bisexual' thing is pretty old news. I knew several girls who I knew hadn't been in a RS with another girl or done more than kissed who put their status as 'bisexual.' Although experimentation or whatever might be increasing because it's seen as liberating as popular, it's probably exaggerated.

It is sort of confusing/annoying when done as a 'joke'.

Usually it's a best friend.

I would expect more than half of guys check out lesbian porn at least now and then. It's become so mainstream these days. Many guys would also love to see their girlfriends involved with another woman or in a threesome.

I have some friends who have kids who are well through high school or have just begun college. In the 3 cases I've seen, their Facebook profiles linked to their daughters' profiles. Hence, they were obviously young females.

What I noticed in these profiles was:
a) they showed "In a relationship with" (insert name of another young girl)
b) they showed "Interested in" (Men)

I am perplexed as to why someone would post this kind of stuff for general consumption, what is really going on in these girls' heads, and what their parents think of their Facebook profiles.

Have I missed something in the last two decades? I don't have kids (no thanks). So, what is going on?
Did you just thaw out from a cryogenic experiment?

Or maybe you are an alien.

You have a lot of strange questions about very basic things.

Wow. You follow me around from True Crime (Scott Peterson thread) to here. You use weird font colors and your profile is locked. Maybe YOU'RE the alien.

Facebook use differs according to the generation that uses it. That's what I've seen. I wanted to know if this is really what my classmates' kids are up to. If I was a parent, I would be very displeased.

Using weird colours, lol that's a good one!

Well it makes a nice change from boring black.

I agree that some of it is exagerated or done as a "joke". But trust me, I have first hand experience that a lot of it is not. I think experimentation and rebellion are more likely reasons for this trend.

Some of the girls that I'm aware of weren't posting it on their facebook, they were sharing the info with their friends privately while trying to keep the information from their parents.

We must travel in different circles. It's my impression that males enjoy girl on girl but are repulsed by guy on guy. Of course some men are repulsed by the idea of being with a female who's been with a female. I can't say for sure it's 50% but I don't think it's too far off.

I'm certainly not saying that most men are that open minded, they just have a warped sense of right and wrong.

As a parent, you can be displeased, but at some point your control over what your teens and young adults do is limited. As I said, you can't lock em up and throw away the key.

You CAN forbid them from using a computer in your home. You can refuse to provide them with a cell phone or a car. There are things you can do to TRY to discipline or guide them, but no matter how hard you try, the real world will creep into your lives and they will eventually get out and start having to make their own decisions and choosing what behavior they think is appropriate for them. Regardless of whether or not it hurts Mom and Dad's feelings or sensibilities.

More like 15/16 or so. Does anybody actually purchase porn anymore?
