There are still people who consider interracial, homosexual, and pre-martial sex to be wrong and inappropriate. Should we out law them as well?
.
Fortunately those who consider the lifestyle choices of consenting adults as "wrong" are completely outnumbered by those who think it's none of their goddam business as long as everyone involved is a consenting adult and no one gets hurt.
Wasn't the age issue the point of you starting this thread, not the views of Westboro Church?
No, that isn't just what it will result in. It will also result in fewer sexual crimes of adults against children.
The injustices you're talking about are in the extreme minority (look up the statistics) and are not a reason to throw out the whole system. Protecting children is still the goal and it's still a good one. And that's exactly what we're talking about here: laws (age of consent) and why they're in place.
The laws aren't in place to attempt to stop a biological drive. They are there to protect the innocent, period. I don't care that, for example, a potential predator who was kept by law from having sex with my young children wasn't actually "changed" in any way biologically. That's his own thing to deal with or not. What I care about is that he didn't have sex with my children.
If he still has to suffer away with biological needs to sleep with children, forgive me for not feeling too sorry for him. I can't help that. All I can do is my part to protect young people, whether anyone's biological urges are changed in some way (?) or not.

My point that things shouldn't be outlawed just on the grounds of "ew, that's gross".

Have you asked yourself why you so strongly feel the need to justify sexual attraction to young girls? I feel this is a legitimate question. What is your stake in all this, personally? Because that's important. It's important to the question in general and to adults' attitudes in general toward the potential sexuality of very young people.
Rather than attempting to justify (possibly?) your own feelings as appropriate, you may want to look inside and ask yourself why you want that justification and whether that's appropriate and fair toward the potential young girls in question, or whether it just fills a need you yourself, an adult who is presumably in control, have. Which is more important? That's an honest question. Not everyone will say the child is more important.
It's quite simple really. Our society isn't in line with our biology.
There was certainly a time in our (human) history where women having children in their mid to late teens was ideal. Originally, humans lived to 35-40 years old. Having children between 15 and 20 would allow the children to be grown before the parents died. If one has a child at 15, one would be 30 when the child was 'grown' and able to have their own child. Then the original parent would die 5 to 10 years after that (and after having a few more children, usually). This made sense back then. Waiting until the mid 20's to have children likely meant one would have fewer children and die before they were adults.
Times have definitely changed since then. We live twice as long. This allows us the opportunity to wait longer to have children. Society is different. We have school that we expect our children to attend at least until they are 18, and maybe into their late 20's. Women can have jobs. They are more than just mothers and gatherers.
But, our biology hasn't kept up.
To say that there is something wrong with a person for their natural desire to be attracted to teenager girls is ridiculous. It is totally natural.
Is it in the best interest of our society to act upon those feelings? That's much more of a grey area. Should there be laws against it? Grey.
I certainly believe that getting an education is more important than popping out babies.
I'm 37 and I have no children. I may never have children.
That works for me. Having kids at 16 may work for someone else. Not everyone is on the same life path.
Since you desire sex with youngsters, there really is no arguing your rationalizations. I can see you don't wish to get help, so all I can say is, don't come near my kids. Then some laws really might be broken.

Oh how odd, I thought a private message was just that: private. I can see you have problems with boundaries all over the place, not just with pubescent children.

You might want to look into that.
See, this is exactly why it is important to discuss these things.
Two people can't even have a civilized discussion about the topic without someone suggesting that the other has some type of disorder.

No, one person can't profess sexual desire for a pubescent, then cross boundaries with a completely different person, without the other suggesting that the first has some type of disorder.
How many times does City Data have to entertain this exact same topic? Is this a recurring, every-6-months thing? Was it you who started the earlier one, on the Politics forum, OP? Why rehash the same thing over and over, unless you simply enjoy stirring things up? Your username would lead me to conclude that that is the case.
Oh you mean the emancipation and age of consent thread? After having it moved to the Great Debate section it got deleted due it having a poll vote on it. I was going remake it without a poll so it wouldn't be deleted but I discussed to do this instead due to the info I came across.
Puberty by definition: Wiki Since we're being logical, clinical and civilized here.
