Hello all,

So, I am considering transitioning my career into school psychology and I was wondering if some people in the profession could answer a question for me.

I am located in the greater-NYC area, and it seems like a-lot of school psychology positions require bilingual abilities with Spanish. Is this a common thing all over the country? I would assume this is the case in California, Texas, Arizona and NYC, but I was wondering what the situation is like in other states.

thanks in advance for your replies!

Yes, Spanish is the second most spoken language in the United States and will probably continue to be so for a long time to come.

My wife is a school psychologist in NC and is not required to be bilingual. She has had to work with non-English speaking families through an interpreter on a number of occasions and isn't really a big fan of having to do that.
