Right? Anyway I think that we all deal with negative thoughts and therefore emotions to some degree. But I know that when I don't have negative thoughts I feel better and more confident around people.

definately. I work with an organization that helps people get healed of disease by dealing with the root cause. IMO, about 80% of disease is emotionally (or spiritually) based.
I have an example. All week I've been nervous about my weight lifting session tonight. As a result, my joints have been hurting, my energy has bottomed, I've been having muscle spasms....I walked in to the gym actually dreading the plan to dead lift 200lbs. I consider dread to be fear. There's over 400 types of fear, and it is documented in the medical literature that some disease is fear based. Anyways, I had a little talk with my coach & he helped me refocus. I was able to turn off the nervousness (dread, fear, whatever)....I blocked the thoughts and thought only about what I was doing. And I easily lifted 208 lbs with excellent form.
so, yes, negative thoughts can really screw us up, especially if we allow them to fester.
