The Apollo program is a good example. A lot of trial and error. Tough to plan, tough to design, tough to execute, tough to deal with risks.

Same thing for you. Maybe your plan is too ambitious.

I am able to recognize this problem in others and do what I can to stem the momentum. It could either be to interrupt someone when they're talking or just getting in their way as they walk down the street. I figure, later they'll realize what I did and want to thank me, but I'll be gone and off to help someone else.

Update: Since the date of the OP, I went through a course of radiation therapy, which left me constantly tired and aggravated my difficulties with inertia. At my meeting with the neurologist, I asked for a specific medication that a similar patient's wife recommended - Provigil or Modafinil. I was put on the newer version of the drug (Nuvigil) and it literally breathed new life into me. Unfortunately, a change of health insurance voided the prior authorization my doctor had to get, and I was unable to obtain it for this month. I soon fell back into my slump and am currently typing this from bed. Hopefully I will be able to get it next month, when my health insurance once again changes.

There could be a number of causes for this. But I've battled this my entire life. I have trouble getting started on most things and frequently don't finish them. In my case, I have life-long ADD. But my husband, too, has this same issue and I've never been able to pin down why in his case. At least he usually finishes what he starts.
