Gossip to me is talking about somebody's business to an uninvolved party. Did you hear about Stephanie? Her boyfriend left her for a carnie selling churros at the fair.
Pretty much all of us are gossips in that respect on CD.

It's only eavesdropping if you're actively trying to listen. If you're talking right next to me then it isn't. I, personally, don't care, but I do hate it when people have personal conversations on the phone on public transit, etc... like it can't wait? Just seems classless.
OP, I hope you are a Family Guy fan and this puts a smile on your face... but for some reason, I just got this funny impression in my mind of Peter Griffin saying your original post this in his ill fated "What Grinds My Gears" news segment about gossipers. But instead of putting on headphones, his head would explode or something (hey it's a cartoon after all).
That wasn't gossip. That was just talking. Many women like to talk. Different women like to talk about different things. And different women talk about different things with different people. Jenny might like to talk about her relationship with Stephanie but might like to debate politics with Jane. Jenny might have gone to high school with Claire - so they talk about the people they have in common. Jenny might work with Beatrice so they talk about work. Jenny might go running with Tara - so they talk about running. Shocking, I know.
It's only eavesdropping if you're actively trying to listen.
And the OP is not only trying to listen... but remembering and posting on websites.
