Nice, never saw his response to the response, which I also never saw, heh. He's mainly reiterating what was said in the article, but it's entertaining nonetheless. Also, the comments on this video are solid, by youtube commenting standards especially
My favorite funny women are Tina Fey and Julia Luis-Dreyfuss. Both of these women ooze talent. A comedian like Amy Schumer is okay but I'd need to see her be consistently clean, and not need to rely on so much on shock-humor, before I counted her in the same category as the above two. She tells good stories and is a good observationist. Though, she's also a good example of a woman who has a hard time being a funny 'woman'. She's more like your best girl-that's -a-friend because she's more masculine in personality than the other girls that you know. A lot of women comedians rely on this personality type, or perhaps just tend to be this personality type, to successfully communicate humor and, in my opinion, aren't on the same level as women who can be funny with completely feminine personalities (see my favorites). The parallel situation would be if a strange majority of male comedians tended toward more feminine personalities to successfully communicate humor. That would be an unnatural affect especially when it is present in a majority, and so is the masculine female comedian.
Why men tend to not find many female comedians funny is because their humor tends to be the humor that women find funny (see: Megan McCarthy - she's a good example of a male humor mimic that falls short and therefore mostly appeals to women who see themselves as edgy). Some men find it funny just like some women find the most juvenile of male humor funny, but the crossover isn't anywhere near universal. The difference is that you'll rarely find men angsting as to why women criticize juvenile male humor as being unfunny. We all like what we like and shouldn't worry about whether other people do or not. If no one showed up or tuned into any one comedian, they would disappear. If someone sticks around, then a larger group of people finds them funny!
I couldn't be with a woman that didn't have a sense of humor. Humor and music are the two biggest things in my life.......
Me too. When are we gettin' hitched?
