People who go to All You Can Eat buffets tend to overeat so they feel they got their "money's worth." Do people with unlimited call time tend to chat on the phone more than they normally would?
I see/hear people on their cell phones continuously. Some don't seem to be having a two-way conversation. More like they are just "hanging out" together via their phones. No one talking at times, until something comes up. A lot of dead air time.
My local store and bank branches put up signs that say customers cannot be on the phone while conducting business with a teller or at cash register. Seems like people are on the phone a lot more just because they can be with unlimited air time.

No, that's why it's offered as a perk, no one needs it so it's easy to give it away. Unlimited texting costs them more and the least common, unlimited data costs them the most. I can't remember the last time I spoke on my smartphone, I use it mainly for texting, e-mail and internet. Looking at my last bill for a month it shows 34 minutes talk, 276 text messages, 3.62 GB data.
I have unlimited talking....I talk probably a total of 30 minutes a month. All to my dad, who does not text. Pretty much everyone else I text or email or snapchat. I hate talking on the phone...I much prefer to email or text.
Only certain people does this sort of thing influence. "Getting your money's worth?", maybe unless they signed up for unlimited because they cannot control how much time they spend on the phone. It is a great way to waste time and avoid doing things you don't want to do.
If you got unlimited calls you pay more money then other users. It may be gossiping or business purpose. All depend upon individuals need. For example if you run a call centre definately you need a unlimited package and if you have big social circle it helps to have unlimited calls.
My cell company T-Mobile, doesn't even offer limited minutes anymore. I recently asked because I hardly ever use it. As a result I'm strongly leaning toward getting rid of it.
So the unlimited minutes hasn't been incentive for me to find others just so I can talk to. I'm very selective on who I let into my life and have been for a long time.
Some people are just more social than others.
