Do you know anyone like this? What did you think of that person?

What would I think?
That they may have been in therapy and the therapist suggested he
get in touch with his feelings and start personalizing what he is saying
instead of deflecting/minimizing and watering down what he is saying....
2 examples...
"You know how you feel when your dad beats you and you feel worthless?"

'When my dad beats me I feel worthless"...has a whole different emotional
impact on the speaker. 'Brings it on home.'

That might not be what you mean... have examples ?

Nope, "we" (the 'royal we') seldom run into anyone like that… although it's not hard to see why some folks might tend to attract 'em!

Does this person EVER ask...I like this...what about you?

I believe this...what do you think?
I saw that movie, have you seen it yet?

Young people do this alot, they just don't know great
social skills yet.
Give them time..we were all young once....excited, enthusiastic
to share what we believe or saw or think...
sometimes pointing out this behavior wakes them up*...they just didn't have
a clue they were doing it in their enthusiasm..it is cute to watch in teens or
well, let's say, under 25 yr olds..but, then it would get boring.

*Tony, I have been noticing that you start most of your sentences out
with' I saw this or I like that' ...did you know you do that?

See? No judgment...you are not even expressing how it makes you feel...it is just
a statement at this point. You are not even telling him to stop...
Don't know if you are asking this type of advice , tho.

That they like to start their sentences off properly. How is anyone reading into this further based on the info given? You people sound a little nutty jumping to conclusions lol

Another guess is that a person may be haughty, boastful, or self-centered, although just one trait is not enough to make such foregone conclusions.

It seems to be the exact opposite of this: http://www.city-data.com/forum/psych...rd-person.html
