I think that's really my atheist version of my Catholic mother and grandmother's phrase "offer it up."
When something gets under my skin, I take a deep breath and ask myself how much I can alter things. Usually not much. A lifetime of dealing with my crazy dad has kind of required that kind of outlook.
But when I'm sad or feeling depressed, I indulge in some food I like, read some books I enjoy, snuggle with the dogs, take a hot shower and a nap. In warmer weather, I'll take a walk or a run.
Like jtur88, I also hate Sundays, so I made a way to look forward to them. I go to a cafe to work on my homework every Sunday afternoon. I know that doesn't sound exciting, but for me it's a win/win because there is a cute girl that works there that I'm trying to line up asking out, and otherwise I'll just never spend a solid time working on my school projects. It's too distracting to be at home.
