When I am looking at topics/threads/subjects to read on a forum, sometimes one is "locked" - indicated by a padlock to the left of the subject.

That means people were being naughty with what they were saying, so the moderator locked it to stop the bad behavior, bickering, or whatever.

Anyway as soon as I see a locked thread, I INSTANTLY click on it to see what they were saying - go right to the end.

And many times it is something I would not have read if it was not locked.

Anyone else do that?

No. I tend to focus on the topic, not whether it was locked. Often times I get to the end of a thread and find it locked and nothing in there seemed so out of line to lock a topic. Not sure why some topics get locked.

No, not at all, unless the title line would indicate something very relevant for me (which it never does).

I'm not here to snoop, I guess, so people's misbehavior doesn't interest me. I'm here to discuss, so if there is no opportunity to discuss, it's not for me.

Yeah.

Based on the theory, they must be interesting. Or at least controversial.

No. I don't read it if I can't participate.

Women seem to be stereotyped as being nosy, but that's so not me. I know a locked thread is likely full of drama, but drama just doesn't interest me.

Same here! Unless the topic is very boring.

Nope....doesn't happen, don't even notice until I get to the end. Almost always it's a good read.

Yes, because I want to know what post was the final straw. Haha CD really does let people "get away" with more than on other forums I visit. But sometimes it seems as though the mods locked it for no reason, so I wonder if it was a mistake or if the "offending" posts were removed. Those are a disappointment.

Ok, so I apparently don't read them just because they're locked. I came by a few moments ago, but the subject didn't appeal to me so I skipped them.

No, it's a waste of time.

I only bother with threads I can participate on.

Yeah, I am tempted to read those threads sooner. Also, in general, those threads get more interesting than other threads, while also often getting very tiresome later.
