It's totally simple to me. Add 6. If only a few add 6 then I am benefitted. If everyone adds 6 then we are right back where we started, at our true scores, so the excercise does not matter.
I would take the 2 points, but that would be with the hopes that the rest of the class would be smart enough to figure out that that is the best option, in order to get 2 points rather than 0 points. But that's a big IF on whether the rest are smart enough...
If you're grading on a curve and there are x number of people, you better believe that most people are picking 6.
You're getting a 0 no matter what you do.
