Not sure where this should go. I met 3 people today in a kind of a conference with another person with whom I am doing a project. The three people would be subjects in a video I will be producing, so this was an introduction. They were all polite enough but this happened: I will ask a question and the person will look at my companion and respond. It was like I was invisible. She was slightly more connected to them than I am as they all have worked in this organization.
I am not white, the rest are.
This has happened to me before.
What is going on here?
That is weird! I have not a clue why someone would do that?
I would be looking at the person asking me questions. Now I have met people who are dishonest and can't look me in the eye when answering, but they are usually looking all around, at my feet, etc.
