Most, a sweeping statement. Depends on how you define, A-hole? Are you thin skinned or hanging out with the wrong people? Serious answer.....

Don't know about anyone else, but *I* work at it. But selectively. Mostly toward people who ask this kind of question on a public forum.

This right here, seems genuinely good folks are a rare breed.

People have lost the art of socializing and lack communication skills due to the gadgets that consume them. They become annoyed quickly when put in a position to communicate and often respond with brief, quick tone. And must admit I have also done the same and may have
Come across as an a------- too. So many negative changes in humans in so few decades.

I think this. I am genuinely a nice person, sometimes too nice, but like everybody else in the world I have bad days, feel frustrated, get annoyed and there are probably a few people out in the world that think I'm a *****. There are definitely some genuine *******s out there who are just angry, bitter people, but I think most other people you just catch on a bad day.

We are in the age of narcissism. Way too many people think they are special and better than others. That, and there are no manners anymore. We seem to have lost that as a society, very sad.

I was at a light recently behind some BMW. Light turns green, he's just sitting there looking down in his lap (at is phone no doubt). So I give a heads-up beep, short and to the point. He sticks his hand out the window and flips me the bird. At first I laughed. Then I got angry. Who the f#@# does this jack-wagon think he is? I was in my pick-up truck and was tempted to speed around him to get in front of him at the next light, at which point I was going to throw it in reverse and plow the bed of my truck into the f!@ks front end. People are richard craniums.

people are taught to be a holes, they didnt get enough back hand on the back of the head from daddy. It a hard question but i would claim alpha males, egos, individualism, and not enough brainwash from the government.

I used to be pretty nice. It works well in college, for instance. However in the real world it doesn't work very well. Nice guys finish last, etc. I started to notice I was losing at work, and even my own parents were kind of taking advantage of me. I consciously became an a-hole about 5 years ago and it's worked out great so far. Try it out, it might work for you.
