I'm the same as you. I don't care for kids but I don't want anything bad to happen to them. I don't want of my own at all but it's a preference of mine. I have a sister who is a toddler, a nephew who is a one, and a niece who is two. Those are really the only kids I enjoy being around.

Anyone is well within their rights to decide parenthood isn't for them.

There's a weird lack of logic among the arguments made by the vehemently, vocally child free online. In their minds: Someone says "I dislike children" = an enlightened human being. Someone says "I dislike people who dislike children" = terrible human being. What the hooha? As though lumping people into categories to "dislike" is tolerable in some circumstances but not others. I wish I understood what's behind that mentality.

That's not necessarily all of us. I am very much of the opinion that people are entitled to their own opinion. If I'm honest with myself, I prefer to have friends who are single to those who are married-with-children, even though I'm not single myself. The former at least prioritizes their friendships and can go out on the weekends. If those in the latter category prefer other friends who also have kids, I say more power to 'em, as long as we aren't talking about actual discriminatory policies in the workplace.
