Not really I would think with a pump you would attain a higher level than normal male would most of the time. ( there is exceptions)

That last sentence was not about that.

Most men are afraid to look too soft by publicly accepting anything less 100% masculine.

I've been a supporter of the LBGTQ community for a long time now. There's a lot about transgender that I don't get, but that lies more with me than them.

Like I know a delightful gay man who has quite a few feminine traits - he combines male and female clothing at will as it pleases his artistic temperament and wears his hair in a feminine way. He seems so at home with who he is. But he identifies as male and he's fine with the ambiguity of his tastes. That I get. I'm a straight woman, and half the time I find myself shopping in the men's section at Old Navy or LL Bean, but there's nothing I like more than a pair of sparkly, dangly earrings. Amusingly, he and I have a lot to talk about - he truly is one of the most kind and accepting souls I've ever met, and he basically just spreads joy with his attitude.

I guess for me, I don't understand why the lines between the genders are so rigid in so many ways. The either/or of it is just aggravating. And to me, it sometimes seems like transgender people are embracing that rigidity - they feel feminine so they need to remove their penis and get a pair of breasts or they feel male and they need a penis and to have their breasts removed. But on the other hand, they're really devoted to the idea of changing genders and most are very clear with what they want, so obviously there's something going on that I just don't understand.

Basically, it's a mystery to me, but if someone wants to transition and does it with the support of mental and physical health professionals, I don't see what the problem is. And I really don't care which bathroom they use.

I have multiple transgender friends.

They are all male transing to female.

Not one has mental issues.

BTW, most transgenders are not flamboyant drag queens, they are every day people.

I also don't judge whether you are male or female.

I never cared much about the bathroom issue either, until my 14 year-old told me that, over the summer, her guy friend had begun identifying as a female, and is now petitioning (public high school) to change in the girls locker room during gym and the girls are uncomfortable. I also know a transgender boy (identified as a girl until last year) who tried to change in the guys' locker room during a sports tournament. I also feel a natural born male would have unfair muscle/strength advantage when trying out as a female for particular sports teams, which is also what this transgender teen is doing.

I understand completely that a trans female is not the same as a drag queen. But It's the very visible attention-seeking types who decide to look like drag queens who give people a bad impression of the more ordinary trans people you know. I really wish the low-key trans people would speak up about this, because it hurts them all, and it makes acceptance much harder.

I said the same thing when most people in the legalize pot movement were long-haired hippie types who eschew bathing. I said the same thing when gay pride marches were full of people, usually gay men, in outrageous costumes. As soon as upstanding-looking types started pushing for marijuana, a lot happened. As soon as people learned that most gay people are ordinary men and women and not the guy in the parade in a sequined thong, a lot happened.

It's about how you package your message. The message can be 100% valid, but in a bad package, it's not going to affect people in the way you want. I actually wish more "normal"-looking, more androgynous trans people were more visible. So people would see, oh, THIS is what they're like! instead of the ones who seem to crave attention.

Just want to add that the transgender boy walked into the boys locker room, where the teams were in various stages of undress, wearing board shirts and a sports T-shirt. This teen had been a girl at the last tournament.

I think in the 2 situations I know of, the teens should have dressed in a unisex room. I'm worried about how the teens will be treated by the other kids. Also, some of the parents were very mean towards these kids. One mom wanted to organize a "beauty intervention" and do the transgender boy's hair/makeup.

The transgender girl is huge (muscular and over 6 feet) so no one messes (yet) with that kid.

I don't have thoughts on transgender people?

Do they pay taxes? Yes? Do they take daily poops? Yes?

Then my thoughts are that they should continue paying taxes and living their lives.

The unemployment and poverty rates are higher among them, so I think more of them do "street work" and avoid paying taxes and/or use social services because of their low income levels... But is it their fault?
