I don't care if it's dangerous or not, so please don't waste your time lecturing me on it as I will just ignore those posts. If it can improve work speed, how much would it likely do so? Work is my passion, and I will take anything that would increase my speed.
I don't know if it will help you work faster per say, but it can help some people focus on otherwise mundane and boring tasks for longer periods of time.
From someone who used to take adderal, it's really not a good solution for "working harder", especially long term. It would be one thing if you had to cram a bunch of hours in a short period of time to get some big project done, but just to work harder for the perpetual future is not a good reason. I know you obviously know everything, or don't care, but you probably should care if substances you volantarily put into your body are dangerous long term or not. It is an amphetamine after all. Anyways, this would be a good question for your doctor. I'm sure he or she won't be thrilled to write a script just so you can work harder, but I'm sure you can find someone.
But if you legitimately have difficulty attending, either may help curb your distractability. It's not designed to "help you work harder," or faster. Although they are stimulants, counterintuitively, for people with legitimate neurobiological impairments that affect their attending/concentrating behavior, they actually serve to help focus and curb impulsivity, therefore helping one to work more efficiently, not speed up. They affect activity of neurotransmitters (dopamine and norepinephrine) in the brain. They work slightly differently, but both affect those neurotransmitters. They prevent cells from reabsorbing norephinephrine and dopamine, and keep the chemicals active in the brain.
As long as you say you don't care about possible psychosis, mania, depression, addiction, sure go ahead and get some stimulants. I mean, what's more important that increased productivity?
I take Ritalin for ADHD and it does help me concentrate and focus so in essence I guess you could say it helps me work faster. When I was in college kids used to buy and sell ADHD meds
