Don't bother much with the Psychology experts. They can't cure anyone. Most of them got into it for self help because the reality is that they're a mess themselves. Hardly the experts in what is "normal."
This is just BullS. I spent 40 years in professional psychological counseling. Its not true. And counseling doesn't cure people, it helps people cure themselves.
Losing interest in things you used to enjoy isn't a sign of depression on its own. In order to determine depression, other symptoms need to be present. In some cases it's a sign that a person is maturing or evolving. For example, losing interest in childhood pastimes and toys, moving into the teen years, is a common experience. In your case, it sounds like you're no longer entertained by fluff, and are looking for more substantive things to occupy your mind with.
