A person with these problems will not benefit from any activity centering on self.
Charity work which reduces self is the way out.

Well, since you're not a person with "these problems" how can you even relate? How would you even know how to advise someone with severe issues with organization and managing their chaotic brain? Your AA philosophy isn't the solution to everything, and ADD/ADHD isn't an an addiction.

I am the sole relative handling my elderly father's worsening dementia and overseeing his care. Don't give me crap about "reducing self." If I did not have a system for managing all the information, bills and problems flying at me in addition to the responsibilities of my job and the canine rescue work I've become involved in, everything would go down the tubes.

Do you ever get tired of trying to use other people's problems to make yourself feel superior?

You tell 'em, Jrz!! (I'm a fan) Their remarks were so off the mark, and totally pointless! Never heard of this stuff but read the thread when I saw you wrote it. I'll have a look today. Anything with office supplies has got to be cool.

Well...no.

Anybody who has difficulty attending generally does better with tools that assist in organizing their responsibilities in a meaningful, manageable way...whatever those tools are. This type of planner may work for some.

Volunteering, while not without meaning or value, doesn't necessarily address the effective management of respoinsibilities, which is the source of stress, here.

OT: The OP got trolled. And this holds true, and may be even *more* true if the troll doesn't recognize they're trolling. What a troll does is insert some offensive or confrontational remark in an otherwise pleasant thread. And they do this primarily for two reasons, I think: (1) to draw attention to themselves; and (2) to enjoy the incoming show as people argue with them and each other.

The hardest part is to ignore them--which is the wisest choice of action. After all, you're having a pleasant time and then you're challenged with some nonsense which, if the troll is clever or merely lucky, strikes at the heart of any insecurities you may have.

Just ignore it; maybe it will go away. See:
