About 1 in 5 people move around once a year and the younger you are, the more likely you are to move. Maybe it's not you, maybe others aren't moving around enough.

OP, have you ever heard the song "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo"? I think you'd relate to it.

I hope you're right, but I wouldn't count on it. My experience has been that with most people, out of sight = out of mind. It's been the rare person who has taken the trouble to stay in contact with me after they've moved, or I've moved.

As for your question, I hate moving. With me, it's because the first time I ever moved was when I was 12, and I left a place that I liked and had friends and moved to a place that I didn't like, and it took me quite a long time before I made friends there. Ever since then, I've had a strong desire to stay rooted in one spot.

And so, I've lived in only four states for my entire life. (I'm betting that this is below average.) And only one of those moves (when I left home to go to college, and ended up getting my first post-college job in that same state) could really be considered voluntary. Always, for my entire lifetime, I've lived within a few miles of Interstate 95. It would feel very, very strange for me to live somewhere and not be near it.
