I've found from experience in my life that when people say "you just don't get it" it's because you have heard everything they have to say about a certain issue and you still don't agree with their point of view. I've been in many heated discussions with people over the years and I've found they use the "you just don't get it" card when they are out of things to say and I'm still coming at them with arguments contrary to their opinion, so by default I "just don't get it" to them. What do you guys think?
Not necessarily. People have different perspectives. Try rephrasing the person's POV in your own words and let them correct what you "don't get". There are some things a person can't understand unless they have been there though.
I tend to agree with them "you just don't get it" obviously. There are just some subjects that are that way. Based on one's life experiences, sometimes, they simply can't get where someone else is coming from.
I think it's both. It's often is a cop out to not wanting to accept a different take on something. Maybe most of the time that's what it is. But it could also be that one really can't get what someone means due to that literally being the case.
