Scary.

Agreed, though in the past I have thought that he was most similar to Kim Jung-um and Robert Mugabe.

He really is some piece of work. Please god, help the Nation survive him.

If we accept that NPD is the main affliction, how does that relate to all of his lying? Is being a liar part of his NPD, or is it a whole different issue?

Yes he becme president. That hardly makes him sane. Hitler became chancellor (fuhrer?) of Germany.

Winning an election anywhere is no badge of sanity.

A great number of psychiatric and psychological professionals have found Trump's behavior of such critical concern that they individually and cumulatively have remarkably forgone the "Goldwater Rule" to speak out about the dangers of him as president.

https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog...g-donald-trump

This article indicates 18,000 of them signed a petition indicating their professional appraisals and concern.
Quote:
Gartner, a psychologist in private practice in Baltimore and New York, author of a psychobiography of Bill Clinton, and a former instructor in psychiatry at Johns Hopkins, contends that Trump “manifestly” meets the DSM-published criteria for at least three personality disorders: narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), antisocial personality disorder, and paranoid personality disorder. They are a “toxic brew” that in his view not only make Trump “dangerous” but add up to “malignant narcissism,” not a diagnosis formalized in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual but a label coined by the German-born psychologist and psychoanalyst Erich Fromm.
There are a couple of MH professional dissenters in the article. One said Trump isn't actually mentally ill but evil.

Quote:
And that is one of the many criticisms that psychiatrist Allen Frances levels at the “well-meaning but misguided effort” to declare Donald Trump mentally ill. “Donald Trump is evil—bad not mad—and incompetent. He is a threat to democracy.” His fitness for office should be addressed politically, not psychologically, Frances says.

“I wrote the criteria for personality disorders,” says Frances, professor emeritus at Duke. The public diagnoses being bandied about are inaccurate and “miss the point,” he argues. They ignore the criterion that symptoms must be causing distress and impairment. “Donald Trump causes distress to others, not to himself. He is rewarded for his behaviors.
More and more MH professionals have been speaking out as more and more Trump voters have been regretting their choice. https://twitter.com/trump_regrets?lang=en

He's little different to many other people in his position. Most US presidents are egotistical psychopaths to an extent, that kind of personality is perfect for a position that often involves lying, manipulation, the ability to handle intense scrutiny, etc.

The only difference is that Trump doesn't publicly hide these traits, he openly displays them. Other leaders who be charming in public, but terrible behind the scenes. The fact is, in politics perception is more important than reality. If a politician comes across as nice, and media coverage is generally positive, then that politician will be popular, so long as their track record isn't irredeemable. Many people liked Obama because he's "cool" and seems like a nice guy. Despite the fact that he was neo-con war hawk, the only President in US history to be at war throughout every day of his two terms.

Trump is emotionally fragile and exceedingly thin skinned. He has the LOWEST APPROVAL RATING of ny modern president at this point in his presidency, and his desperation to be well liked is pathetic.

While he argues with a department store and "Saturday Night Live" he is decompesting (losing it) before our eyes.
Maybe if you stopped listening to the MSM and Far Left news outlets, you'd get the truth. He's not as unpopular as they're making him out to be.
