You got a kick out of it just because you can!!! '

There is such a thing as a benjo ditch. You can probably figure it out. When using one it puts a person's body in a much better posture, sort of like squeezing toothpaste out of a tube. This is a much better posture than that used in the Western world. I understand one can buy toilets or toilet attachments intended to attain this posture.

The ditch is later covered over and/or used as fertilizer. However as I implied this is the third world. Using human feces as fertilizer is not recommended anywhere.

as I'm growing older, I believe I have OCD....

reason is, I've lived alone for a long time, well over 20 years, and hate clutter, but also everything has a place and I'm a real clean freak.

So, when the kids come over, and move things around, I find myself, moving them back in their place and smiling, thinking my OCD is kicking in. LOL

I'm also a germ a phob....hate it when people wash their hands in my kitchen sink, b/c that's where my food goes...and everyone takes their shoes off at the door when entering....there is a bench there, and they don't seem to mind.

Also wash my hands a lot...after petting the dogs, especially when working around food, etc.

I love the early morning, before dawn, before anyone else wakes up...it's so quiet and peaceful....and sometimes go walking between 9 and midnight, due to the peace and quiet.

I'd like to know what you mean by "public areas" especially if it's outside. Are there like benches or picnic tables?

I think some people are touring Chernobyl now. I’ve seen photos of the abandoned town. To me places like that are spooky. But I do appreciate a nicely landscaped commercial park. I hadn’t thought to visit one during off hours.

me, if I were to do it all over again, would love living in seclusion, in the woods....have always loved being far from shopping malls, people, etc....the peace and quiet for me is such sweet music.

The OP found an aesthetic niche that conveys an emotional effect. I'm jealous.

For the Labor Day holiday, we were out in the country, as we are almost every weekend. We had a lot of family this time, so 2 of the grandsons slept in a tent, close to the lake.

The oldest grandson (just turned 15) confessed to me that he went swimming in the lake for a little bit, in the middle of the night, when everyone else was asleep.

While maybe not the safest thing to do, I get the compulsion and desire to do so.
