I knew people would come out of the woodwork to defend FB - everyone is so predictable. Thanks to you all for meeting my expectations

Despite these posts, as far as I'm concerned the detriments outweigh the benefits of the site. Nothing anyone says will convince me otherwise.

Keep drinking the FB Kool-Aid, everyone

Yes, but I'm not calling people names for finding value in something that I don't like, while using something similar pretty regularly.

I don't care what the detriments or benefits of it are for you, really. Apparently, I'm a lemming for using a tool that wards off crushing depression and isolation because it's something that offends you. Of COURSE I'll defend that tool when someone makes a sweeping statement and insults people because ... they find a use for it that he doesn't.

The funny part is that you are proud of yourself for provoking a reaction... on a discussion board. I can see why facebook didn't work out so great for you.

You're the one trapped in a closet, not me. I'm not the one going along with the lemmings just because everyone else is doing it - those are the people who are confined.

FB never "worked out" for me one way or another, since I've never had an account & never plan on having one.

Thanks, I've enjoyed these conversations!!! Nice to see everyone getting so defensive when I attack your "precious" social media. You're acting like I'm attacking your religion - which, in some cases, I guess FB is for some people.

A business that only has a FB presence is a business that reduces its legitimacy considerably. I do not do business with entities that cannot manage a real website.

Keep trolling

You post on a discussion board and then gloat when people respond to you because they disagree. You don't want a discussion - you need to build up your self-esteem. See? We paid attention to you. You must feel really good now.

Are you SURE you don't want a facebook account? You could insult so many more people and get so much more attention.

The businesses do have "real" websites. I have more viewing presence on FB with friends who recommend businesses based on my needs. We don't do business with riff raff "businesses" who don't even have a business license.

It's obvious that a lot of the reasons our personal privacy has eroded can be directly attributed to FB - which is yet another reason I despise the site.

My self-esteem is great, Thank you. But, if it makes you feel better go ahead & think whatever you want - and, more power to you!!!

If their only web presence is on Fakebook, that is not a real website. Period paragraph.
