If the world was a more friendly place, it would be a much better place.

I guess you have to understand why that person was being unfriendly before you can make a judgement as to whether they're rude. I was riding my bike late at night a couple of weeks ago and I rode up next to an older gentleman. I said hi and what a great night for a ride. He looked at me and didn't say a word. I told him to have a good ride and rode off. Was he being rude? I don't know. Maybe he didn't speak English? Maybe I scared him? Maybe he just had some bad news? There could be many reasons. I wasn't upset about his response. I was having way too much fun to be concerned with it.

Are you the manners police? Seriously who cares?!

When someone is curt or rude, just ignore it and go about your day. You don't know what they are dealing with in their personal life. They could have just lost a loved one or possibly their job.

Life is not all sunshine and roses for some people so give them the benefit of the doubt and keep moving!

This post is an example of rudeness in itself. Awfully grumpy today. Wake up on the wrong side of the bed?

I don't think it is socially acceptable to act that way, I wish it was. A lot of times I don't want to be bothered.

Friendliness can also give some people the wrong impression...

It is considered rude behavior. But guess what, I don't care. If I'm not in the mood to have a conversation, which is 85% of the time, and I'm not at work or with my roommates, I will just ignore you if you are a stranger. In my defense, I'm an equal opportunity grump so I don't care if you are 7 or 70, male or female, leave me alone when I'm in public or get treated to some pure surlyness.

There is one person at work who I do not talk without outside of saying Hello.

I find the man toxic and needed to set boundaries.

While he might consider my behavior rude I consider it healthy.
