If I’m understanding OP, I can see how in some cases, I or we as a couple, do this.
There are leaders and there are followers. In some of our couples friends, I can see that they are more devoted to us than we are to them. We are the leaders and they are the followers.
It has nothing to do with looks, but more about people who perceive themselves as lesser, for whatever reason, wanting to follow others who are more exciting, or more attractive, or richer, etc.
If I join a new group, I’m aware of who the most popular, or who the doers are, and I make sure they know me.
I also am curious how anyone can tell whether someone is a leader-follower, doer/hanger-on, based on photos, like the OP.
I don’t mean appearance. What I’m speaking of is, who are the officers, or heads of committees, etc. The best way to get in good with others in a new group is to find the job that nobody wants and nail it.
I liked your title, but honestly, I can't tell what you're saying in your post.
Me neither. I have no idea what the OP is trying to articulate. My takeaway is for the OP not to worry about what others do as long as it’s not psychically bothering them or illegal.
In a sense "yes" it is about me. I'm just trying to minimize the number of unflattering posts. I think most of the people debating me here probably know that I am aware of what I am talking about. Otherwise you would have all just ignored me. So on the one hand, I appreciate the "disagreements" wink wink that are said against me here, if only for the benefit of those reading the thread. But I wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong impression which would lead anyone to question my knowledge.
Another example is that they refuse to listen to "worldly" music, or watch movies that are R-rated, or read books that are not approved by their church communities, etc. Maybe they had restrictive parents. I really don't know.
So religious people are "ugly" people to you? Interesting world you live in.

I don't watch R-rated movies either, because, ick.
Sigh. Now I have to live with being 'ugly.'
