Power is one of the reasons we have wars, but why do people want to be more powerful. Is it,because they can feel more valuable or can feel more positive emotions?Or is it because they want to prove themselves?Or is it a stretching Darwin's theory of natural selection?

They are ego-driven, and they actually feel inferior in some way.

It depends. Dominance is gene related. Without it a species would never get stronger and gets replaced by other species.

Who isn't ego-driven? There are a whole bunch of definitions of ego on Wikipedia
[ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ego ] and they're not all negative.

I don't see anything wrong with wanting power, either: the ethical issues are how you use the power, and how you acquire it. If you acquire it through hard work and legitimate means, and you use it wisely and fairly to improve your community, no foul.

Power, in itself, is not an evil thing. It's all in how you acquire it and how you use it.

I've been focusing on the negative side of power.Am not saying there isn"t a good side ,but am seeing the negative pop up more or i want to see it in that way.

You're so right, as exemplified by contemporary politics! The lying, manipulating, hiding, having no ethical guidelines aside from egocentricity. No names mentioned, but pretty much anything becomes okay as long as it supports or flatters. No real underlying concern for anybody else. No empathy for others.
