People tend to like the truth as they have experienced, or believe about it. Truth for most of us is subjective.

In terms of universal truths, I believe there are a few: humans have inherent value, some pain is inescapable, we all face death. These are a few of these.

Well I'm talking truths that are not universal.

Why don’t you give us an example of a truth as you see it?

People like to believe they themselves are truthful, but when the truth hurts, others wish they had just remained silent.

Most people (in my opinion) like their "idea of the truth"...and they don't appreciate it if you hit them with the hard facts of TRUTH....you may even be chastised, or called rude, insensitive,
not compassionate, etc etc when the real TRUTH is revealed.

You mean like something that is true for one person but not another? that's called an opinion.

I think people like it when everyone thinks they're right... and that's ultimately more "important" than the objective truth psychologically.
