Yes, his behavior is a real red flag as you point out. He could have handled it much better. I would be cautious moving forward with him if he does contact you again.

Personally I would not be available if he contacted me after boys leave. How difficult is it to drop a few words to a person and I know the real phone isn't used today by the young generation.
