I am a book person and I love to read. I am always searching for new books and new suggestions of what to look for. I admit that I love a good self help book! One of my favorite is the Artists Way by Julia Cameron, which is not a "traditional" self help I guess..... any way any suggestions for me? Would love to hear from you!
I'm a big fan of Eckhart Tolle. The two books I am familiar with are "The Power Or Now" and "A New Earth".
Personally I am more of a book "listener" as I tend to get more out of them this way and in the case of Eckhart, his voice adds a soothing calm. I can also multi-task (drive car/walk on treadmill/cook/do work around the house or yard/ rest with eyes closed laying on couch).
I'm sure a search of books on Amazon under those subjects would show favorites and biggest sellers. Not to knock things here, but that will show the results of a huge audience that won't be present here.
Are there modern recommendations that takes social media and other changes in society into account? I've been reading a self help book, and I kept thinking that so much of it seems like outdated thinking.
I remember reading "The New Inquisition" by Robert Anton Wilson in the Eighties and being entertained by his unique point of view.
I like the M. Scott Peck books and particularly the Alice Miller (psychologist) books. They have been full of good guidelines for living for me.
