You can never know who has felt what. You can only imagine.

This is usually an issue with younger people, especially high school teenage years. I came close to suicide saying to myself, “I’ll kill myself and then they’ll be sorry”. It dawned on me they wouldn’t care if I lived or died. The ones who would hurt the most are my close family and friends who would be blaming themselves instead of those who tormented me. It got easier after high school in dealing with negative or hurtful people. Some of those bad people from high school never matured beyond their hurtful behavior. Some did. Some of them didnt even remember the hurt they intentionally inflicted. To them they were joking around. Problem was the only ones laughing were the other students, not the victim being laughed at.

Nope it's an issue for me too. I'm still a target for kids and teenagers hence I live in fear of them. It's not just words. I have PTSD from my childhood and teenage years. It's easy to trigger it. I'd rather be punched in the face repeatedly than hear those words.

I hope he's at peace. It's not the cowardly option. The cowardly option is to be like me:wanting to die more than anything but being too cowardly to attempt for fear of failure.

It is one of the saddest things to hear when anyone and especially a child harms themselves due to the words of others. Many years ago I had 2 jobs that required me to deal with very wealthy people, a few of them were even well known. Some of these people thought they had the right to talk down to me and try to trigger my anger. My way of dealing with them was become very calm and ask why they were acting like they were. I would smile right in their face and turn their game around on them. It worked really well and many times I had them walk away with smoke coming out their ears with rage. I refused to let them yank my chain and join them in their misery. Sometimes I would laugh out loud at stupid comments and ask them why do you say such a thing?

I have also worked with poor people and they are on average MUCH nicer than the average wealthy person. There are nice people in both groups but people with money are far more often jerks.
