Heard two more of the misused prepositions from young people recently. "Embarrassed of" (instead of about or over) and "family for" (rather than "family of"). This is so weird to me!

this is funny, when we were growing up we had a Home Ec teacher that drilled into us, that you "Bake" things in the OVEN, and Cook things on Top of the Stove.....you were not allowed to say I cooked that cake in the oven.

So, now, I hear a lot of woman say, "so you put it in the oven at 350 to cook for 45 minutes". LOL

I think people speak with that because they're uncertain or either want to soften the blow on something they're talking about.
