Emotional vampires are people who sink in their teeth and such the lifeblood out of you. You go to visit them and leave feeling completely drained.

They need people to feed on.

How about you? Do you know anyone who is an emotional vampire? How did you get rid of them?

Woofers

YUP!!!!! I also call them squids....... they latch on to you emotionally and WONT LET GO!!!!!!! There is one girl inparticular that I know who I haven't really been GOOD friends with but everytime I talk to her I end up in a NECKdeep OVER emotional conversation because she feels it's the end of the world for her and everyone hates her and is conspiring against her!

And sometimes she even tries to turn it around and bash ME!!!!! By twisting and turning my words! I can't stand to be around her because it's like emotional warfare! I wana be like "get off get off get OFF of me!!!!" :PPPP

You cannot get rid of them. I've had "emotional vampires" gang up on me and mess with me and I'm just like "what in the world?" totally confusing......they do not engage in any sort of discussion or open discussion, withhold concern and sympathy, have no sense of humor, etc.....pretty pitiful people that make up a lot of the population.... I don't mean to be a downer here....let's all hold hands and sing we are the world....

I lived with an emotional vampire about four years ago. Rented a room from her. Her trip was to guilt people into feeling sorry for her and doing things for her. I tried to help her out for a well, and then I realized I was being manipulated and used. When i started to pull away, that's when she snapped. When you start to withdraw from an emotional vampire, that's when you see their true, twisted side. They are angry and will try to break off the relationship FIRST as soon as they see you pull away slightly. I've seen it happen over and over again. When they do cut you off, be thankful they are gone for good.

In the past, I have had some around me. Today - nope! Free and clear. No garlic was needed, just a decision.
