Nails, teeth, and to a certain extent shoes. One can tell a lot about a person with a quick glance at those three areas.

I think that's a very old-fashioned notion that has been passed down through the decades as an axiom or old-fashioned wives' tale, but does not hold much truth these days.

Only if you confine it to one particular culture and within particular groups within that culture.

It works pretty well where I live. I've always said that if I had been hard up for money when raising my children, I would have gone without eating to provide them with two things: a spot in the best public school available in my area and orthodontia. Around here, it's all about the smile. We don't do nail extensions or done-up hair or fancy clothes or even much in the way of makeup, but we do have extremely straight, clean, white teeth.

I don't have white teeth , I wasn't born into a culture that was obsessed with white teeth . not sure what that tells you about me other than I don't subscribe to whitening my teeth

It would tell me that you're not from anywhere around here and/or that you're over the age of forty.

Also that you're probably older than forty. And it might mean that you don't work in a field that values youthful looks.

This has also been valuable for me. I am on the phone with customers all day. I can usually tell the reason they are calling by their tone of voice and how much they are in command of the facts. I have been doing this for several years, so I have gotten good at it.

When they call and have all of their pertinent information at their fingertips and have a relaxed and friendly manner, I can just tell. This person has a credit score in the high 700s. And I'm usually right.

When they seem nervous, impatient, don't have their financial info ready, have no idea how to find it and there are crying children or traffic noise in the background, this is a bad sign. We're talking a credit score in the 500s.
That's an excellent example. I judge people routinely by their use of foul language. Hearing someone curse in public sets my teeth on edge and leaves me with a very bad impression that persists no matter what happens in any subsequent interaction. Today, I was out with my teenage son when a man entered an office near where we were waiting to meet someone. We could hear him cursing through the wall! It was appalling, and I had a long and pointed conversation with my son about it. Short summary: don't do it.

On another note, "real-a-tor" drives me up a wall.

Manners, integrity, demeanor...and you had better not be on the sex offender registry.
