Lol...I am sure every parent thinks this about their kid.

Have you met most people's children?

Seriously, though...I don't like most people's children because they haven't bothered to raise them right. There are some kids I have met that I completely adore.
I agree. I am a mother but I don't like most people's kids, simply because of the way they behave. I have stopped visiting friends who have out-of-control kids and I also don't invite them to my house. We'll just talk on the phone, it's fine. Parents these days tend to avoid their parenting responsibilities and prefer to be their kids' best friend instead. This will never work. Kids have plenty of friends their own age and the last thing they need is an adult trying to be their friend.

I once dumped a boyfriend because of his outrageous kids. I just can't stand it.

I can say that I generally do not like any children, even if they are well-behaved, and do not plan to have any in the future. I'm just not a warm-and-fuzzy kind of person. I absolutely love my family and friends and am always there for them, but they know I'm not the one to turn to when they need to gush about something. (I hope that makes sense.)

That's not to say I completely ignore children, I do spend time with my friends' kids and buy them Christmas/Birthday presents but it's not something I look forward to. I love animals though!

Ever notice how no parent ever thinks his or her own children are brats?

Mine have their moments but I have a feeling everyone on here was that way as a child.

I expect alot from my children and 95% of the time they deliver and meet or exceed my expectations. My brother and I were raised in a home in which individual behavior was a direct reflection on the entire family and my husband and I try to do this with our kids as well....if parents raise the bar kids will usually try to meet it.

And no, I don't think EVERY parent thinks this way. Take a look at our society and you get a good feel for parents who don't give a darn about their kids, don't teach them responsibility, manners, respect or try to help gauge their moral compasses...

Unfortunately, the same criteria applies just as easily to adults that I haven't wanted to deal with.
I wouldn't go as far as to say their not nice ppl, like TK pointed out, not everyone
has the patience to offer a child, or even tolerate their presence.
Better to be honest. I would hope that someone who feels this way would take
the proper measures to insure they never become a parent.
