I think 90% of what I post here, stays here. I post on City-data to either reinforce (refine) my thought process or have it challenged. When I walk away from City-data, I am ready to do better with my family, neighbors and co-workers.

I tend to like measured responses, but with a sense of humor. I love that in other posters too. I'll be quietly sitting by my wife reading C-D and out of the blue I start cracking up. I always share those posts with her. That's kind of hit or miss, we don't always find the same things funny. I'm totally okay with that. I know I can make her laugh, been doing it for 42 years.

Pretty much but how I might be perceived is a different matter and is likely to be different due to how the written word can’t be imbued with the same inflections and nuances etc that is conveyed in person.

No. What I post here are thoughts going on in my head. If I did that at work, I would sometimes shout: ďCanít you morons shut the hell up for even 2 minutes!?Ē ...but instead I frequently get up and close the office door. For example.

Wait a minute...I guess that IS the same! 🙃

Yes, I am the same person offline as I am on. Same as with Facebook, Twitter, etc.

In real life I am even more drab and boring.

In real life, I am even more neurotic. And I am somewhat grouchy. Online, I am a little dialed down. I consider myself a scary person offline.

I don't think anyone will admit other wise.....

At work, I am a bit more reserved as I don't want to mix personal life with business. Among one set of friends (and most blood family), I will hold back and bite my tongue on certain issues/discussions that I know will garner judgements.. but for the most part similar to here. Among my closer long time friends, I am basically the same as here.... they are the ones that truly know who I am and accept me as is.

You are very fortunate in that. I donít feel I can truly be myself with any of my friends.
