Correct. Although some digital cameras out now and smart phone cameras encode lat/long on the picture so they can tell where it was taken. Mine I placed on the map manually.

I love the SPOT locator. I would be a good salesman for them.

@SaltyDave - yes, I have seen those Go Pro helmet cams.

@HH - you have a place on my boat as well, anytime.

MA - great job on the SPOT web story; that locator is number 1 on my Christmas list. After a little negotiating, our offer was accepted, so that run to BSM was worth it - thanks.

Congrats on your salty piece of land.
Welcome to paradise.

Both you, HH, and BH will all be happy to hear that Subaru Jim was able to fix my oil sending unit yesterday.

Fished the El jobean pier yesterday afternoon using shrimp, caught a small mangrove snapper and a nice red drum but it was to big to pull up to the pier with the line, no net not sure if there is a net you can use there. We were only there for about an hour everyone there said it was really slow. Outgoing tide alot of current.

Nice!! I've seen people fish under a bridge here in Punta Gorda and pull in some 30-40+ lb black drum, so it doesn't surprise me that you couldn't pull it up to the pier! You should go to the beach, and wade out with a bucket of shrimp and fish! You'll be surprised how much fun it is and how productive you'll be!

I learned today, in Stuart, about what these guys call a bridge net.
They use ropes and weighted net and lower it into the water before they fish. When they land one, they just guide him over the net and then hoist him up. Ask Fishin' Frank...I bet he can hook you up.

Thanks, we went to Fishin Franks before we went out. After all I have read here I went there for some insight, they set us up with tackle, bait, licenses and alot of information. Must not have thought we would need a net first time out the El Jobean was suggested because it is our backdoor and also the guide we spoke with says it is his favorite place to shore fish.

I'll give that a try when we go back to Stump Pass.
