They started several years ago in California to beat restrictions on fixed signa, and are still going strong there. Unfortunately, the next thing you'll probably see are the small trailers with signs filling up parking places - at least the sign spinners only take up sidewalk space.

We have the Liberty tax people here in Madison, WI too, dressed in their Statue of Liberty costumes. Also we have a local car wash that has a couple of locations, and they use them either. The one I go by every day on my way home from work has one that's quite animated. He uses his sign as an air guitar. Quite entertaining when you're stuck at a stop light!

Default Spinners

We've had them in California for a number of years...day in and day out, rain or shine. They get paid to do it and if they decide they're not being paid enough, they quit. It works out great for everybody! I've been a little surprised how long some of them have stuck with it.

Some of them really take advantage of the fitness opportunities. They listen to their MP3 players, dance and seem to really be having a good time. Oftentimes, they know the other spinner across the street from them.

I figured they were everywhere!
