2 nd night at the house and got my first snook, small. Have not caught a snook in years, except those I've caught in Punta Abreojos BCS. Years ago on the East Coast, Indian River, I caught plenty.

Plenty showing under the lights but real tough to get a hit, had two other half ass hits. Some big jacks cruising the canal and had one nice trout..

Have not put the traps in yet, going to have to weight them here, the current
is strong coming through this canal. Anyone know where to get the old window sash weights? That's telling my age !

Have a good weekend. GP

I actually remember fixing a window with sash weights when I was a kid - what a pain in the butt that was. Are there any windows left in Florida that old? Not many, I would think. Is there a junkyard someplace?

They make great weights for traps....also used them for fishing codfish off Stellwagon bank, would cut then in half or quarter them.....don't have any idea where I'll find some, that's going back 50 years!

Congrats on the snook!...Fish way outside the lights to catch the bigger snook, they are on the shadows.

Sash weights can be found at Ace hardware on PC blvd and rt 41 (so can EVERYTHING else!).

Homey depot/Lowes sell 2' pieces of rebar, they are cheap and make great crab pot weights....just zip-tie two into the bottoms.

Hi! What sort of traps are you using and what are you looking to catch with them?

blue claw traps about $40 there usually green or black, no matter.

left the snook alone last night, just way too tired. Did have one on this AM before light...
wasn't on too long though, grabbed a DOA shrimp and dropped it. Going to pick up my
boat tomorrow or Tuesday.........

Don't forget, it's Mothers Day!
