Default No Air Conditioning

Hello,

My Ac unit has finally died. We interviewed several companies and settled on two possibilities to replace our system. Boyd Bros in Punta Gorda and 4 Seasons Air Conditioning in Port Charlotte. Is there anyone out there that has worked with either one of these companies? Please provide feedback good or bad.

Haven't used either, but I just got a quote to update our system. $4,200 for the outside compressor/condensor and the attic air handler/heat pump unit. 4-ton system. I only had one quote so far, but we're not doing anything until next year with it.

They sell small units on wheels that are meant for individual rooms..they are vented out a window...all the stores sell a universal window kit for venting purposes...but before you go measure your room size and window opening you are thinking of using...

At least this way you can keep your bedroom cool for sleeping...

We use Four Seasons for all of our new construction work- they are good. For retrofits and repairs, though, I use Abbott Air in Englewood. I just had my units replaced at my house and my AC bill was cut in HALF. I thought FPL made a mistake when I got the bill. I paid $4400 for a 3.5 ton system, 18 SEER (they gave me 2 prices, one for 16 SEER, one for 18- I went with the 18).

New energy code went into effect in March and AC replacements are more expensive now than they were a few months ago.

Thanks to everyone that responded, we have not made a final selection yet but will continue to look for service reviews. The quotes are pretty close. Thanks again.

I've used Emery Air Conditioning in Port Charlotte on Paulson. Very happy with them. Here is their web link: port_charlotte_ac_air_conditioner_repair. Ask for Dawn or Ron
