Benedetto's in PG, at the base of the southbound 41 bridge. Early bird is 4pm till 6:30.....You get salad AND soup, nice entree (babyback ribs, salmon, different chickens, etc etc..), 2 sides and desert for 9.99. Best part is it has the outdoor seating overlooking the harbor. You can go by boat if wanted. Relatively cheap pitchers of beer too . I've been taking guests there instead of Harpoon Harry's because the food is usually better, the view is almost as good and it is not normally a mad house....and yeah, it's much cheaper.

If I'm REALLY hungry Golden Corral.......burp

Breakfast - Family Table in North Port, Elena's in Punta Gorda, Alvaro's in North Port

Dinner - I agree with Benedetto's early bird special. Elena's has a similar early bird special price wise. I also like Luigi's, their prices are reasonable and they have different daily specials. There are plenty of places to go that have either senior citizen specials or early bird specials. I am not a senior yet, but my parents are and they get discounts all over.

I usually use coupons and get get prices for dinner such as buy one get one free. Look in the Clipper Magazine that comes in the mail or the coupon book that comes in the newspaper.

I still can cook much cheaper at home than eating out.

Santhino's on 41 in Punta Gorda is excellent. Not cheap, but very fine dining If you get a coupon from Restaurant.com it is well worth your time and money

The rooftop deck of the Wyvern has a summer menu, dinner and salad for 12.95. I like table 209 though it isn't exactly a bargin. I will have to check out the other suggestions.

Numerous restaurants closed as a result of "summer 2012" casualties (happens every summer). Table 209, Coral Rock, The Chicago Eatery (hot dogs) place in downtown PG, and a few other I can't recall right now. Unless you have a coupon or get the early bird special, eating out is MUCH more expensive than cooking at home. Not sure where the OP hear that it is cheaper! We eat out about 1x per week. Can't afford more than that! HA
