Jeff,
Home Depot sells the supplies to do the aluminum, hardware and the screenwork. They don't sell a kit. You have to measure and buy what you need. You are allowed to do work on your own home. There is a book you can get and draw up your plans and turn it in to City of North Port to get a permit. I think the library has the book or you can ask the permitting department where to get it and which book you should use. Any kind of structural work requires a permit. Engineering is usually required for a screen enclosures so that it meets current wind codes, especially if you are having footers and a roof. If you were just going to screen in your front entryway for example, you wouldn't need engineering because you would just be putting aluminum frame and screenwork on an already existing structure. But building an entire screened lanai off the back of the home would require engineered plans.

Any idea if they sell the tracks and screen door panels to install the sliding screen doors in a garage door opening?

They don't stock the garage door screens, but you could ask if they could order it for you. I am not sure. They only have the roll up screens for a garage door. My boyfriend buys everything at an aluminum company that only sells to contractors.

If you're referring to an entire pool cage, you do not want to tackle this yourself. Footers have to be poured and the framing is custom designed for your specific needs. Plus u need super-gutter (structural) to attach to the roof. A basic 20 x 30 cage only costs a few grand to have built professionallly, and their in & out in a day or two.

A lot of lanais don't have pools, you're basically just screening in a porch, and yes you can get all the parts, screen framing components and screens at Home Depot and other hardware store type places. If you are just attaching the framing you don't really need footings, you can anchor to the house, piers, and slab. I would still use some cable bracing at the corners. They have the screen doors pre-assembled as well.

Of course, you should check about permitting, but . . .

Now if you are installing a whole pool cage - then you do need footers, and structural drawings - probably signed by an engineer. As HH said, you'll probably find its better to subcontract that out to a licensed contractor.
