Per Rockford Airport, Allegiant Air's southwest Florida service could expand beyond two weekly flights - Rockford, IL - Rockford Register Star

To quote RFD "Service could expand beyond 2 flights per week". Both of these airports NEED all the business they can get. Allegiant is a much better and substantial airline than Direct Air was.

Default wish they would fly out of Worchester

since we lost direct air, would love them to fly out of worchester, they have most of new england drving to worchester to fly to florida, the planes were always packed.. I think I wrote to Alligent asking if they would be doing this
We are driving out to Ohio to see my daughter and grandaughter, then driving down to florida from there with our dogs, I do not like long car trips, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do

Looking at Allegiant Air's BTS records for October 2012 I see that 40% of their passengers land in the following four airports. Other than Las Vegas, the airports are minor ones that are near major destinations.

City Destinations
Las Vegas, NV:46
Sanford, FL:45 (near Orlando)
Mesa, AZ:36 (near Phoenix)
Saint Petersburg, FL:25 (near Tampa)

With a few exceptions, their business model involves them flying to very small airports. They do not have connecting flights and only 2/3 of their revenue comes the basic ticket price (the rest is baggage fees and cross promotional fees with hotels and golf courses, etc.)

So their target customer is someone who wants to get on a flight and in a few hours be at a tourist destination for the least amount of money possible. These customers are willing to travel to smaller airports on either end of their journey. The airline has very few businessmen as passengers, the normal source of an airlines revenue.

In the Lehigh Valley (metro population 850,000) in Pennsylvania, we have lost American Eagle, Direct Air, AirTran, and now Frontier Airlines. The three major airlines have cut the destinations to only 5 hub cities on express flights (ORD, ATL, DET, CLT, PHL). As PHL is only a 54 mile flight it will probably be terminated as well.

Our only hope for a decent airport is that Allegiant Air will increase flights to Orlando, St Petersburg, Fort Myers (and hopefully in the future Fort Lauderdale and Punta Gorda). The long shot is they will fly to their western focus cities of Las Vegas and Mesa Arizona.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin has also lost American Eagle, Direct Air, Air Tran AND Frontier. Southwest has taken over some of the Air Tran flights.

Allegiant has added non stop service from punta gorda to bangor maine... it starts in october...i'm originally from maine and love that it takes a little over 3 hours to fly there from here...and driving from port charlotte to punta gorda is a lot more convenient than driving to St Pete/clearwater airport

Yes, they recently added several flights out of PGD. However, some routes are seasonal, so don't be disappointed if your destination is not available at all times of the year.

If you fly Allegiant out of Punta Gorda...you walk outdoors to board the plane. You walk out the glass doors onto the concrete to a portable ramp that is attached to the plane.
