I need some advice about my aftercare options for a 5 yr old kindergartner who is in our care. He attends Peace River so I need transport to the aftercare facility since I work FT. It also needs to be approved by Early Learning Coalition. So far I visited the Y at Edgewater/Bayshore and while the staff seemed very friendly and helpful, I was less than thrilled with the facility. The children stay in a room with just tables and chairs (there is an xbox kinect) and the outdoor play area is just a large grassy area. I was told activities are organized which is good considering that the site lacked any stimuli. My other option is the Academy of Little Achievers. I have not yet visited but plan to in the next few days. Does anyone have any reviews on them? PMs are welcome. I know they are Gold Seal accredited so I am hopeful. Storybook Too was on the list but it appears they may be closed?
