No jugs of chlorine to lug, you put a bag of salt or two in the pool as needed. Your skin feels soft when you get out and you don't have that chlorine smell. Maintenance for us has been easy. Acid usually weekly and the occasional bag of salt.

Just beware that salt is corrosive. Our golden retriever gets out and shakes that salt water and it will make things rust. We have replaced our lanai furniture with all aluminum framed and now no problem.

No Mike, not salty at all. The ppm is hundreds of times lower than the sea. It takes a very small amount of salt to have the Chlorine removed during the electrolysis process to supply the pool with natural chlorine. I go through one $8 bag of salt per year. About 2 cups of acid per week, and stabilizer (cyanuric acid) maybe 1x every other month. This is my first pool and the maintenance is EASY!!!! If the chlorine level is getting low, I push the "boost" button. That's it.
