Well, kick me and tell me I ain't dreamin'.....

We got a paver crew working on a Saturday! God willing and the canal don't rise, we gonna have ourselves a pool deck today. I was relieved to see they brought a tamper to compact the soil. Of course it's the right thing to do but jeez you never know what crews will do. These 3 are fast too.

Wow...the skill set of this paver crew is mind blowing. The are fast and good. One is from Mexico, one from Guatamala and one from Brazil. I was able to communicate in Spanish with them and enjoyed keeping them informed on today's World Cup match. What a game that was! The guys ability with the concrete saw was muey impressivo! The safety professional in me cringed at them not using water with the saw, as I know the real threat the crystalline silica dust presents but I wasn't about to stop them because they would think I was loco. No masks, no safety glasses or shields and no ear protection. Sigh. That's how 99% of small subs work...God bless 'em. The company I run safety for would suspend them to save them from themselves. But alas, today I am just the client.

The deck's almost done. After they was the dust off I will post pics. I could not be happier with this stage of the project. should have a cage early next week.

The safety thing was a concern to me when ours went in too. Watching those guys dumping gallons of miratic acid with no respirators made us cringe but like you didn't say a word. Can't wait to see the pics, bet it's going to look awesome. Once that cage goes up your home free, nothing stopping them!!
