Anybody hear anything about a change in the Scrub Jay rules ? A friend told me he saw a roadside sign saying something about the rules changing soon. I researched Scrub Jay web sites but didn't see anything with regard to rule changes.

Thanks for posting the link, I was looking at that one earlier and couldn't see anything different than it's been for some years. I asked my friend where he saw the sign and he said "at a small real estate office in Harbour Heights". It said something about the rule change and that property prices would now be on the increase ??? I told him next time he goes by there to stop in and see what it means.

We have friends in Ohio, bought 2 lots 15 years ago, and didn't build then.
Would like to build now, but told they need a scrub jay inspection......

..SHE says it would cost them $2000, is that true?
Anyone know the cost?

I'll relate the previous info to her.

I don't believe the inspection is that costly, maybe a few hundred or less. Now if jays are found it could be costly. Scrub Jay are friendly little guys. Here's my friend Keith a few days ago with a few of them:

That sounds about right for two lots- around $1000 each.

Great pics! Where were you? I remember them when I was a kid; they would eat nuts out of our hand, but haven't seen one in years! Supposedly we have a nest across the street, but I haven't seen any.

I misread, I was thinking for one lot but I thought it was around a few hundred for each.

Those were taken at Oscar Scherer State Park in Osprey
